Overview of the Yoga Teacher Training in Goa

India Yoga School regularly organizes cultural activities to help students understand and respect Indian traditions.

We conduct Kirtan every Monday, where the whole community comes together to sing devotional songs. This activity helps create a calm and positive environment in the school.

On the first Monday of every month, we organize a Saree Draping activity. During this session, the participants learn how to wear a saree and understand its cultural importance in Indian tradition.

Our theory sessions are structured to make you understand yoga both on and off the mat. We’ll learn the history and wisdom of Yoga Philosophy, the power of Mantras, cover practical Teaching Methodology, and provide an introduction to the Yoga Business.

You will learn key principles of Anatomy, understanding how the body moves, helping you to practice with deeper understanding, awareness, and safety. You will also be introduced to the ancient system of Ayurveda, learning how to create harmony in your life through diet and lifestyle.

Our teaching methodology focuses on clear understanding, active participation, and overall preparation of students. Teachers use simple explanations, real-life examples, and interactive activities to make learning interesting and effective.

We encourage questions, discussions, and practical learning so that students gain confidence and develop critical thinking skills.

The evening is a time for guided meditation and activity, like going to the beach for the sunset meditation. The session includes a guided beach meditation followed by an excursion to a local point of interest.

Absolutely! Most of the participants attend our programs solo as it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and form meaningful connections.

Yes, we offer nourishing vegetarian meals made with locally sourced ingredients. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Yes, our packages include comfortable pool side accommodation. You can choose from various options, from dormitory to shared and private rooms, depending on your preference.

Yes, we provide yoga mats and all the props required during the course however, you are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

 Upon your arrival, you will receive a welcome kit to support you throughout your journey. It includes a complimentary yoga mat, a school bag and a t-shirt, your student course book, a jal neti pot, a japa mala, a notebook and pen, and access to our online book bank.

We recommend bringing comfortable yoga attire, a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, a journal, and any personal items you may need. A detailed packing list will be provided upon registration.

While visa rules vary by nationality, a tourist visa is a common choice for yoga programs. We recommend verifying the requirements with the official visa authorities in your home country.

All our courses are designed to serve all yoga levels and age groups, from beginners to advanced practitioners. We create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore at your own pace.

Yes, India Yoga School is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance. Upon successful completion of our training program, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and you can teach yoga globally. 

 While both are immersive yoga experiences,below is the difference between our teacher training and retreat.

  • A yoga retreat has a more flexible schedule where you have an option to skip the theory classes and use this time to sun bathe by the swimming pool or by the ocean. And you don’t have to appear for the exam which occurs every Saturday. Enjoy your yoga journey without the pressure of a professional certification.

A yoga teacher training course is an intensive course, designed to train you to become a certified instructor and teach globally. You will have to appear and clear the exam which occurs every Saturday.  It has a rigorous curriculum covering anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology, with a focus on professional development.

Absolutely yes. You can take the yoga teacher training course as a beginner also.

 It’s a curated experience that combines daily yoga and meditation with the freedom of a relaxing holiday. You’ll have plenty of time for personal reflection, enjoying the local culture, and recharging, all within a structured and supportive wellness environment.

Our Yoga Cafe serves a variety of delicious and nourishing Ayurvedic delights. Each meal is prepared with fresh, local ingredients to support your well-being.

A typical day includes morning and evening yoga classes, meditation sessions, and workshops. The afternoons are usually open for you to relax, explore Goa, or simply enjoy some quiet time. A detailed schedule is mentioned above in the website.

We are proud to have a team of Indian Yoga Teachers who share the authentic knowledge and heritage of yoga. Our teachers are highly skilled and deeply dedicated to their craft.

We can provide detailed directions and assistance with transfers upon booking. We also provide prepaid taxi booking. We are located near the mandrem beach. There are 2 airports in Goa – Dabolim Airport (GOI) or Manohar International Airport (MOPA).

Please inform us of any health concerns or injuries during the booking process. Our teachers are skilled in offering modifications and will provide alternative poses to ensure your safety and comfort throughout your journey.

1. By Air

Goa is connected by two airports – Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa and Dabolim Airport (GOI) in South Goa; we can arrange comfortable airport pick-up and drop services (chargeable and payable directly to the driver)

2. By Train

The nearest railway station to Mandrem is Pernem Railway Station, just about 20 minutes away. Goa is well connected by train to major cities like Mumbai and Delhi, offering a scenic and comfortable journey. If needed, we are happy to assist you with booking your train tickets to make your travel smoother.

3. By Taxi

We can help arrange reliable taxi services from anywhere in the country directly to our school, ensuring a convenient and comfortable journey. This service is chargeable and the fare is to be paid directly to the taxi driver, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey to us.
